wanting here's feeling OLD after attending the SecOne orientation campfire 2008.
to think that her batch was the very first batch with secone orientation camp fire (in year 2002).
to think so many campfire songs were brought into the camp by her batch.
to think that so many teachers from her batch have let the school.
to think that these secone kids are like six years younger than her.
i think my batch of prefects left footprints in the history of tkgpB. we did so many things for the board which has become a custom for them now.
so much memories flowed back. so many scenes of me doing so many funny and weird things that i onli did in tkgs.
dancing in the field right next to tkss; screaming and shouting in any parts of the school -- like the void deck and canteen; singing birthday songs for any tkgian celebrating her birthday in the canteen -- no matter who is that person, whenever any group of ppl sings birthday song in the canteen during recess or lunch, there are bound to have at least a quarter or half the ppl in the canteen to join in to sing and cheer for the lucky birthday gal; running towards the canteen for food and taking orders for frens; attempted to look as though we banged into the wall at the fitness corner after recess; gathering outside the classroom aka near the toilets or corridor near the science labs or artroom in between lessons; sitting at the mainstairs or outside forth level for duties; going to the den before morning assembly; putting bags at the foyer mins just before the song ended; rush hour -- rushing ppl out of the classrooms for the assembly; standing in front of junior classes to check on their attire; standing at maingate and laugh at those late for their school next door; staying at the side gate to "feed" those annoying flies; going to school with vera and being annoyed by the ONE PIECE thingy; going across school to buy wanton mee with extra chilli before going to school and have that for breakfast; soaking wood for campfire at the back of the classroom block near the dnt block and to gossip/catch up with the others while soaking wood; studying at the study area outside the den with the hamster -- pb running around; shouting to "reply" uncle dullah that the band ppl will be going home soon; going to school with bags of presents for section mates and frens just before any concerts/performance/ competitions; going home late at night with bags of gifts from frens after concert...
there's more obviously.
so many bitchy things and interesting gossips.
too much to be written down.
too emotional to be typed out.
those who have been through, they will know.
we had an interesting secondary school life.
we led an eventful teenage years.
i really loved tkgs. she's the place that i experienced the most enjoyable things. she's like a second home. she has the culture that no school can replace. i love tkgs school culture when my batch was there.
heard that they are celebrating 55th anniversary.
they celebrated 50th during my time and it's the year when we had the joint concert with Minnesota Winds at the esplanade concert hall. =)
i don like tj. as in i don like it.
im neutral to it.
life in tj cant never never be compared to the one i had in tkgs.
the feeling is totally different.
tj is just like a school.
tkgs is like a home.
wide difference.
We cannot all be heroes and thrill a hemisphere
With some great daring venture, some deed that mocks at fear
But we can fill a lifetime with kindly acts and true
There's always noble service for noble souls to do
We're not all blessed with beauty not everyone with brain
But each from every other has something good to gain
So let us make an effort to keep it as a rule
That each one needs the other within the Katong School
Then let us fill the hours with minutes truly spent
In helping one another towards a true content
So let us serve with honour and work for selfless fame
For credit of our country and glory of her name
tanjong katong girls' school;
moribus modestus.-
